Florence Food Tour, where identity and culture are all connected

An undeniable part of the Italian culture is exploring local delights and exploring the multitude of gastronomic traditions. Italy is enriched with an abundance of top-quality products, diversified not only from region to region but from one town to another, reinforcing the link between the people and the authentic identity of a place.

Florence’s undeniable connection between Art, History and Food

A city known for its art, beauty and history, Florence forever maintained a fascinatingly profound relationship between art and the art of food. Like Tuscany, Florence is incredibly proud of their gastronomy, rooted in humble origins and ancestral recipes. These values have been central to Tuscan culture since the times of the Arts and Corporations, when the Art of Butchers combined the owners of trattorias and osterias. The deep cultural importance of food is reflected through the many still life Renaissance masterpieces, conveyed at the Uffizi Gallery.

Florence is enriched with excellent-quality local products, offering an authentically Florentine experience such as Mercato Centrale in the San Lorenzo neighbourhood, completed in the 1870s, when Florence was the capital of Italy, by architect Mengoni and Sant’ Ambrogio market, also by Mengoni. Both markets are renowned places to experience an authentically-Florentine tasting journey.
